The incident occurred near the short-stay car park, leading to the teenager being swiftly taken to the hospital on Monday afternoon. Fortunately, the injuries sustained are not deemed life-threatening or life-altering, as confirmed by the British Transport Police.
Following the incident, a 13-year-old boy was apprehended on suspicion of GBH (wounding with intent). Additionally, three other boys, one aged 13 and two aged 12, were arrested on suspicion of affray. Subsequently, all individuals have been released on bail as the investigation into the stabbing progresses.
Detective Inspector Stephen Kite expressed dismay over the incident, labeling it as a shocking occurrence that unfolded in broad daylight amidst numerous horrified witnesses. Authorities have engaged with several witnesses and pursued various lines of inquiry. However, there is a belief that additional individuals who witnessed the event have yet to come forward. Furthermore, it is suspected that motorists passing by might have captured crucial footage on their dash cams.
In light of the situation, Detective Inspector Kite urged any potential witnesses or individuals with pertinent information to promptly reach out to the authorities. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards violence within the railway network, he assured that every effort will be made to hold the culprits accountable. The injured boy has since been discharged from the hospital.
