A man has been taken into custody for an attempted child abduction at a recreational facility in Wales. South Wales Police responded to the incident at Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Centre after receiving reports of the man’s actions towards a young boy. The 82-year-old suspect, a resident of the town, was apprehended on suspicion of unlawfully detaining a child. Following the arrest, the man was granted police bail as the investigation progresses, as per information from Wales Online. A spokesperson from South Wales Police confirmed that the incident took place at Rhydycar leisure centre on Friday, January 16, where the suspect was arrested on-site. The spokesperson added that the man has been released on bail pending further investigations.
