Tragic Deaths at Cider Festival in New Forest

Two individuals were discovered deceased in a motorhome after participating in a cider festival hosted in a national park. Emergency responders and law enforcement were summoned to Pound Lane, Burley, in the New Forest on Sunday, where the bodies were located. A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary identified the deceased as a 38-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man from Blandford Forum, Dorset.

Paramedics responded to the scene and reported the “unexpected death” of the two individuals inside the parked motorhome to the police. The authorities have informed the next of kin following the tragic incident.

A Hampshire Constabulary representative stated, “Our South Central Ambulance Service partners notified us of the unexpected passing of two individuals inside a parked motorhome on Pound Lane, Burley on Sunday afternoon. Officers were dispatched to the location. A 38-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both from Blandford Forum, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their relatives have been contacted, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

A spokesperson from New Forest Cider informed the Southern Daily Echo that the deceased couple had attended the craft cider festival over the weekend. They clarified that the deaths were unrelated to the festival and mentioned their cooperation with the authorities, who have indicated that the deaths are not deemed suspicious.

Expressing sympathy, the New Forest Cider event extended condolences to the families of the deceased individuals. The spokesperson conveyed, “We were deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two attendees at the New Forest Cider Festival this past weekend. Our hearts go out to their loved ones during this challenging time. The incident occurred within a private vehicle on Saturday night and was unrelated to the festival. Authorities have confirmed the absence of suspicious circumstances, and we are fully assisting with their investigation.”

The New Forest Cider Festival, which took place in Burley last weekend, showcased the craft of cider-making with demonstrations, various cider tastings, live music, and country-themed entertainment.
