“Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson Seek New Royal Residences”

Date:

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are reportedly requesting two properties as part of their departure from the Royal Lodge. The 65-year-old prince is said to be engaged in discussions regarding voluntarily leaving his 30-room Royal Lodge due to the controversy surrounding the minimal rent he currently pays for the Windsor property.

According to sources, Andrew is in negotiations with King’s aides but is hesitant to give up his residence of over two decades. The main points of contention appear to be the location of his new home and financial compensation for the expenses incurred in renovating the lodge.

In discussions with the Palace, Prince Andrew has expressed interest in acquiring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former residence, Frogmore Cottage. Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson, his ex-wife and current co-inhabitant at the mansion, is looking to relocate to nearby Adelaide Cottage once William and Kate vacate next month.

A close associate of the couple mentioned to The Sun that the situation at the Palace remains uncertain. Frogmore Cottage is deemed too small for both individuals, whereas Adelaide Cottage is conveniently located nearby, allowing them to maintain easy access to each other. Both properties offer ample space for their daughters Eugenie and Beatrice, as well as their families, to visit.

The Mirror has reached out to Buckingham Palace and Prince Andrew’s representatives for comments on the matter.

Recent reports suggest that Prince William is insisting on Andrew’s departure from the Royal Lodge by Bonfire Night. With William and Princess Kate preparing to move into the neighboring Forest Lodge, royal sources indicate that the future king desires Prince Andrew to vacate his 30-room residence upon their arrival.

There are ongoing discussions among Members of Parliament (MPs) regarding Prince Andrew’s behavior, his mansion, and the potential revocation of his dukedom. While the Government has not yet scheduled a debate in the House of Commons on Andrew’s situation, the issue could be raised during a session not controlled by ministers.

A Liberal Democrat source hinted to the Sunday Times that the party might be willing to allocate one of its opposition days for MPs to deliberate on Andrew’s conduct.

Although Prince Andrew relinquished the use of his Duke of York title earlier, formal removal of the title would require a law passed by Parliament.
