A man named Wayne Broadhurst, aged 49, was tragically killed in a stabbing incident in Uxbridge on Monday evening. The attack also left two others injured, described by the police as an act of violence lacking reason. The suspect, who arrived in the UK hidden in a lorry and later granted asylum in 2022, is not residing in any Home Office facilities, as affirmed by officials.
The suspect, who lives in a private residence according to the Metropolitan Police, was arrested in connection with the incident. The police were alerted to the scene at Midhurst Gardens in Uxbridge around 5 pm on Monday, where the victims were attacked. Among the victims, one man aged 45 sustained severe injuries while a 14-year-old boy was also stabbed but not critically.
The police clarified that the incident is not linked to terrorism and are investigating any possible relationships between the suspect and the victims. A 22-year-old man was apprehended at the scene on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Video footage circulating online captured the moment police officers confronted the suspect and apprehended him.
Neighbors described the deceased victim as a kind individual who was out for his routine dog walk. The community came together to lay flowers and light candles in memory of the victim. Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall condemned the violent act and assured the community of ongoing police presence to provide support and gather information related to the incident.
