There is a significant traffic disruption on the M25 in Surrey due to an overturned lorry causing congestion for up to six miles. The motorway has been partially closed in the anti-clockwise direction between J10 (Cobham) and J9 (Leatherhead) following the lorry overturning in a collision.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix has reported queuing traffic extending for eight miles with congestion reaching J11 (Chertsey). Surrey Police is currently dealing with the incident, and National Highways estimates that normal traffic flow will resume between 5:30 pm and 5:45 pm.

The disruption stems from a serious collision that resulted in the lorry overturning on the M25. Inrix highlights traffic congestion stretching from J10 A3 (Wisley Interchange) to J9 A243 (Leatherhead) due to the overturned vehicle, with congestion reaching J11 (Chertsey).

Google Maps displays significant traffic delays between Chertsey and Leatherhead on the M25 following the lorry collision. Emergency services are present at the scene. National Highways is advising motorists to plan their journeys accordingly if traveling on the affected section of the M25.

In response to the incident, National Highways has suggested allowing extra time for journeys and considering alternative routes. They have provided information on their website, travel apps, and regional Twitter feed, with a contact center available for real-time updates.

Following the closure of the M25 anti-clockwise between J10 (Cobham) and J9 (Leatherhead), National Highways has issued a diversion route for road users to follow the Hollow Square diversion symbol on road signs.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police has confirmed their response to the collision between Junctions 10 (Cobham) and 9 (Leatherhead) on the M25, with all four lanes currently closed. Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes and avoid the affected area if possible.

Emergency services, including the Surrey Ambulance Service, are on-site after the lorry overturned on the M25. The extent of injuries resulting from the collision is yet to be determined.
