“Kate and Melania Connect with Scouts in Windsor”

Date:

The ongoing second day of the state visit of President Donald Trump and the First Lady is featuring a meeting between the Princess of Wales and Melania. The two are scheduled to have a private gathering at Frogmore Gardens, a vast 33-acre property within Windsor Castle. During this meeting, they will engage in a discreet mission alongside Dwayne Fields, the Chief Scout of the Scouts Association, a group that Kate actively supports.

Kate and Melania will interact with participants of the Scouts’ Squirrels program to gain insights into how children can achieve nature-related badges as part of the program.

Earlier, the Trumps arrived at Windsor Castle, where they were welcomed by William and Kate. Subsequently, they met with the King and Queen before embarking on a carriage procession through the estate, escorted by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, culminating at the castle.

Later in the day, the King hosted a grand State Banquet in St George’s Hall in honor of the President and First Lady. During his speech, he emphasized the enduring bond and special relationship between the two nations, highlighting the safety and strength it has brought through generations.

Expressing his gratitude, Trump described the visit as one of the greatest honors of his life and praised the King and the UK, acknowledging their fortitude and nobility. He commended the King for his exceptional memory, noting that he was impressed by the King’s ability to recall the names of all 150 individuals he had greeted earlier in the day.

During the visit, the King and Queen exchanged gifts with the Trumps. The President received a custom hand-bound leather book commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Additionally, they were presented with the Union flag flown above Buckingham Palace on Trump’s inauguration day and a specially crafted silver and enamel bowl for Melania. The couple also received a joint gift of a silver frame bearing the cypher of the King and Queen.

As part of the exchange, the Trumps gifted the King a replica of President Eisenhower’s Sword and presented Camilla with a Tiffany & Co vintage 18K gold brooch.
