“Virgin Media Revamps TV Search with Image Results”

Date:

Virgin Media is set to introduce a significant enhancement to its TV platform, designed to simplify the process of finding content to watch. The telecoms company announced the upcoming changes in a blog post, highlighting the shift towards a more visually-oriented search function.

Currently, users are presented with a standard list view when looking for content on Virgin Media. However, the forthcoming update will replace this with vibrant images for a more engaging search experience.

According to Virgin, the improvements will be applied to the Stream box and Virgin TV 360. The traditional text-based search results will be replaced with image results, making it faster and more efficient to discover desired content, whether through manual input or voice search.

The update will be automatically applied to devices such as the 360 and Stream boxes without requiring any action from users. Virgin assured that the transition to the new search function will occur seamlessly.

This upgrade is expected to streamline the content discovery process, reducing the time spent scrolling through channels. Virgin’s search function enables users to search for specific shows, movies, genres, and actors, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

Users can initiate searches by pressing the magnifying glass button on the remote and entering keywords. Alternatively, they can use voice search by holding down the microphone button and speaking the desired content name.

To optimize the search experience, users can try various search queries such as finding content related to specific movies or genres. By experimenting with different search terms, users can efficiently navigate the available content offerings.
