Police authorities reported that two suspects, identified as Raju and Veeru, were captured after a confrontation in the Sikandrabad industrial area, resulting in both men sustaining gunshot wounds to their legs. The police operation led to the recovery of two firearms and ammunition at the scene.
Following a complaint filed by the victim’s father, law enforcement formed three special teams to track down the accused individuals. Superintendent of Police Dr. Tejveer Singh mentioned that the suspects opened fire when confronted by the officers.
During preliminary questioning, the defendants allegedly confessed to their involvement in the incident. The victim, who lived in the same building as the suspects, was purportedly assaulted while playing on the terrace, as per reports.
The family contends that the girl was sexually assaulted before being thrown from the roof. Authorities have ordered a post-mortem examination to verify the rape allegations, with plans to add more charges pending the medical findings.
This distressing event has caused outrage in the region, highlighting concerns about crimes against women and children in India. In a separate incident, an 18-year-old man from Pennsylvania was arrested for shooting both his parents, resulting in the death of his mother the day after Christmas.
The suspect, Jarrod Noll, was apprehended in West Virginia following an extensive search by Pennsylvania law enforcement. Noll, who was armed at the time of his arrest, is currently in custody awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania, where he faces charges of homicide and attempted homicide.
