An urban explorer recounted her most frightening experience while exploring an abandoned hospital. Jamie Marie, known for her ventures into spooky locations, decided to steer clear of the Mansfield Training School in Connecticut, US, after encountering a chilling atmosphere in its basement.
The asylum, established in 1860 and closed in 1993 due to scandal and neglect, has become a hotspot for ghost hunters who believe it is haunted. Jamie shared her harrowing ordeal in a video that garnered over 925,000 views and 152,000 likes. The photographer described feeling an unsettling energy that compelled her to leave the property immediately.
Venturing into the basement, which housed storage, an old electroshock room, and a crematorium, Jamie experienced a sudden drop in temperature and an inexplicable sense of unease, prompting her swift departure. The encounter was so distressing that she vowed never to revisit an asylum.
Despite her long history of urban exploration, Jamie admitted that the basement’s horrors shook her to the core, reinforcing her decision to avoid hospitals and asylums. Her interest in the paranormal has taken her to various locations across the United States, blending childhood fascinations with a newfound hobby of exploring abandoned places.
In a separate incident, another urban explorer named Ben claimed to have spotted a ghostly figure in an abandoned school. The eerie setting, frozen in time since the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan in 2011, left Ben unsettled after discovering a mysterious figure in one of his photographs.
