“Hamilton Apologizes as Leclerc Shines in Monza Qualifying”

Date:

Lewis Hamilton compared the passionate Ferrari fans, known as Tifosi, to only Brazilian football supporters in terms of fervor. Despite the overwhelming support at Monza, Hamilton found himself apologizing to his team as Ferrari struggled to compete for pole position at their home Grand Prix.

Due to a five-place grid penalty, Hamilton was aware that he would not secure pole position and will have to start the race from the 10th position. Charles Leclerc, who opted not to benefit from Hamilton’s assistance, managed to secure the fourth fastest time during qualifying.

Expressing his regret over the radio for not contributing more, Hamilton acknowledged the progress they have made, staying within a close margin of Leclerc’s time. Despite the challenges, Hamilton expressed determination to continue improving.

Reflecting on his experience as a Ferrari driver, Hamilton praised the passionate support of the fans at Monza, highlighting the energy and enthusiasm displayed throughout the event. He compared the intensity of the fans’ passion to the fervor of Brazilian football supporters.

Although Leclerc briefly led the qualifying session, Max Verstappen ultimately claimed the top spot. Leclerc acknowledged the difficulty of surpassing his initial lap time and expressed contentment with his performance, recognizing that his effort was the best he could achieve.

While Leclerc won from the fourth position at Monza last year, he remains cautious about repeating the feat this year due to the increased difficulty and predictable strategies. However, he remains optimistic and open to surprises, drawing inspiration from past victories.
