British Superbike racer Callum Grigor has been placed in a medically induced coma after a harrowing crash at Donington Park. The 27-year-old rider from Wishaw, Scotland, is currently in a “serious” condition.
The incident occurred during the Pirelli National Superstock Championship race on Saturday when Grigor was ejected from his bike near Goddards Corner and collided with fellow rider Nathan Harrison from the Isle of Man. Immediate medical attention was provided on the track, and Grigor was quickly put into a coma before being transported to the hospital.
A statement from British Superbike confirmed the details of the crash and the condition of the riders. Grigor was identified as being in a serious state requiring urgent medical intervention, while Harrison was treated for an isolated limb injury at the circuit’s medical center before also being taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for further evaluation and care.
