Luke Littler, at just 19 years old, has been praised as the best darts player in history by Luke Humphries following his victory in the World Masters championship. Littler defeated Humphries in a close match to secure his 11th major PDC title and a £100,000 prize with an impressive performance, including a 104.72 average and 13 maximums.
His success places him as the joint third most accomplished player in darts alongside James Wade, trailing only Michael van Gerwen (48 titles) and Phil Taylor (79 titles) in terms of championship victories. Littler now only needs to win the European Championship to complete his collection of PDC ranked titles.
Despite Humphries outperforming Littler with a higher average of 105.51 and initially leading 5-4, Littler rallied to clinch victory in the final two sets. Reflecting on his win, Littler credited his focus and determination for overcoming the tough competition. The intense final saw him deliver impressive finishes, including a 153 checkout and two 121 finishes, much to the excitement of the crowd at Arena MK.

In other news, Sky has announced a discounted Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming 2025/26 season, offering savings of £336 and more than 1,400 live matches across various leagues. Sky’s coverage will include a minimum of 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 matches compared to previous seasons.
