A teenager was quickly taken to a hospital following an incident where she reportedly fell from an ambulance on a busy motorway. The occurrence took place on the M6 southbound at junction 32 connecting to the M55 during the evening hours of Tuesday. Fortunately, the girl is believed to have sustained minor injuries.
Lancashire Police responded to the situation as a road traffic collision, leading to the closure of the motorway for a period while the authorities assessed the scene. Commuters were advised to seek alternative routes to avoid the affected area.
The incident was initially reported at 5:17 pm, and by around 7 pm, all lanes were operational again, as indicated by Lancs Live. Lancashire Police confirmed the incident, stating, “At 5:17 pm on Tuesday 6th January, we received a report of a teenage girl falling from the rear of an ambulance on the M6 southbound to M55 slip road. She was transported to the hospital with no significant injuries. The motorway was temporarily closed but has since reopened.”
In another tragic incident, a woman in her sixties lost her life in a layby crash, resulting in the arrest of a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The fatal collision, involving a grey Porsche Cayenne, a red Fiat 500, and a white Volvo Tipper lorry, occurred around 8:50 am on Monday on the A10 between Hertford and Broxbourne.
The Fiat and Volvo were stationary at the time of the incident, with the woman from the Fiat fatally injured despite emergency response attempts. DC Lewis Stanley from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit urged witnesses to come forward with any relevant information, particularly appealing to those with dashcam footage.
The driver of the Porsche, a man in his sixties, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail pending further investigations.
