Sky has revealed upcoming changes to its TV channel lineup, set to take effect in just a few hours. As part of the update, Sky Showcase and Sky Max will be discontinued from Tuesday, February 24. However, to compensate for these closures, Sky is reintroducing the popular Sky One channel.
Scheduled to launch tomorrow, Sky One will offer subscribers a range of compelling comedy and entertainment programs, including new shows like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby. In addition to fresh content, viewers can enjoy returning favorites such as Rob & Romesh Vs. and The Paper and Ted.
Furthermore, Sky One will become the new home for Saturday Night Live UK, which is expected to debut later this year. Carli Kerr, MD of Sky TV & NOW, expressed enthusiasm about the channel’s relaunch, emphasizing its unique offerings and the diverse range of shows it will feature.
Sky One will go live on channel 106 on Tuesday, February 24. Alongside this channel update, Sky is introducing a new plan called Ultimate TV, priced at £24 per month. This plan will grant customers access to Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app. Additionally, subscribers will gain access to over 130 premium channels like Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, and Sky Crime.
Moreover, users signed up with Sky Cinema will benefit from a dedicated Disney movie channel integrated into the TV guide, providing easy access to popular Hollywood films without the need for the Disney+ app. The £24 plan includes Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads starting in March, HBO Max Basic with Ads launching on March 26th, Hayu available from July with select shows from March, and over 130 channels from Sky.
