Aldi has integrated InPost Lockers into over 500 of its stores in the UK, allowing customers to conveniently collect and return online orders while doing their regular grocery shopping. The InPost lockers are now available in 536 Aldi stores across England, Scotland, and Wales, with plans to expand this service to more locations in the coming months. The supermarket aims to have at least 600 stores equipped with lockers by the end of the year, out of its total of over 1,050 stores.
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, emphasized the importance of convenience and efficiency for their shoppers, highlighting their commitment to saving customers time and money by facilitating parcel pick-ups and returns alongside their weekly shopping routine.
Neil Kuschel, CEO at InPost UK, expressed the collaborative effort between InPost and Aldi to enhance the shopping experience for customers by offering a more convenient, cost-effective, and sustainable way to manage parcels.
Aldi recently disclosed a list of priority locations across the UK where it intends to establish new stores, seeking sites that can accommodate their store formats. The supermarket is particularly interested in locations for its Aldi Local store concept in Central London zones one and two. Additionally, Aldi has raised the hourly rates for its store assistants this year, with minimum wages set at £12.75 and £14.05 within the M25. Further pay increases are planned for store colleagues starting September 2025, aiming to raise minimum rates to £12.85 per hour nationally and £14.16 per hour within the M25.
