Exciting news for fans of the Heeler family as Alton Towers prepares to unveil a new Bluey-themed rollercoaster. The ride, named Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!, features the beloved cartoon dog family, adding to the array of attractions at CBeebies Land. This will be the first-ever Bluey-themed ride globally, joining other popular CBeebies characters like Peter Rabbit and Hey Duggee.
The rollercoaster’s title pays homage to a memorable episode from the show where Bluey and Bingo masquerade as mischievous grandmothers, sparking mayhem and fun. The ride showcases Bluey and Bingo in their granny outfits, accompanied by the characters Janet and Rita in a car leading the rollercoaster train.
Natasha Spence, Events Director of Live Entertainment at BBC Studios, expressed enthusiasm for bringing the charm of the Grannies to life through Bluey’s debut coaster at Alton Towers Resort. The resort will further delight Bluey fans by introducing additional Bluey-themed rooms at the CBeebies Land Hotel, modeled after the vibrant Heeler family home.
Families can book rooms that feature bunk beds reminiscent of Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom, offering an immersive experience for up to five guests. Larger groups of up to seven can opt for a Bluey suite, complete with a themed playroom where kids can imagine themselves in the Heeler house. Staying at the CBeebies Land Hotel provides access to various activities, including evening kids’ discos and a hearty breakfast buffet.
