“Outrage as UK Caravan Park Announces Closure”

Date:

Holidaymakers staying at a caravan park in the UK are outraged upon learning that the park will be closing at the end of the current season. The closure announcement has left the 200 caravan owners at Happy Valley Caravan Park in a difficult situation, as they are now facing significant expenses to either remove or relocate their caravans and bid farewell to the tight-knit community they have built over many years. Situated just outside Porthcawl in Wales, the park consists of 200 caravan plots.

Earlier in 2021, the park shut down its touring facility. However, recent communication from LT Management Services, as reported by Wales Online, confirms that the entire site will cease operations by October 31, with caravanners required to make arrangements to take away their caravans by the end of February 2026.

The cost associated with moving or disposing of a caravan is estimated to be between £1,500 and £4,000, which presents a significant financial burden for many owners. One of the affected individuals, Alison Williams, who has intermittently owned caravans at the site for around 25 years, expressed her dismay at the situation, criticizing the owners for their actions and the lack of formal communication prior to the closure notice.

Numerous owners have cherished memories of their families enjoying the holiday park over generations. Wendy Boylin, a resident of the site for 34 years, emphasized the strong sense of community and shared experiences among the park’s inhabitants. Amanda Jayne, another long-time caravan owner, described Happy Valley as a second home, highlighting the supportive and friendly atmosphere that has always characterized the site.

The sudden closure has not only impacted the holiday park but also raised concerns among residents living in the unaffected residential area of the site. Wendy shared her worries about the potential closure of the residential facilities, expressing fear about the uncertain future for herself and her husband, especially considering their mobility issues.

As the affected parties come to terms with the closure, LT Management Services has been approached for comments on the situation.
