“Deceitful Grimsby Woman Banned from Hull for Scam”

Date:

A woman in Grimsby, Yasmin Green, has been prohibited by a judge from ever returning to Hull after perpetrating deceitful actions against her partner. Green confessed to defrauding her partner of £5,000 under false pretenses of purchasing a non-existent property and fabricating a fake land registry document. Additionally, she orchestrated a scheme to secure financing for a car in the victim’s name without consent.

During the court proceedings at Grimsby Crown Court, it was revealed that Green and her partner had met through a Tinder date in 2020, where Green posed as another woman named Danielle. Subsequently, Green continued to deceive her partner by assuming the identity of Danielle and persuading her to take out loans for a fictional flat. The victim handed over £5,000 under the guise of becoming a co-owner of the property. Green even went as far as providing a counterfeit mortgage document to further deceive the victim.

Further deceit unfolded when the victim discovered unauthorized car finance and credit card applications in her name. Green had manipulated the victim’s personal information without consent, including changing ownership details of the victim’s pet. When the victim began to uncover the truth, Green resorted to threats of legal repercussions to deter any actions against her.

The victim endured financial repercussions and emotional distress due to Green’s actions, leading to a significant impact on her life and career. In response to these egregious actions, Green received a suspended two-year prison sentence, mandatory rehabilitation activities, and community service. Additionally, a lifelong restraining order was imposed, preventing Green from contacting her former partner and entering Hull. Compensation and surcharges were also mandated as part of the sentencing.

The judge condemned Green’s manipulative and deceitful behavior, emphasizing the profound breach of trust and the detrimental effects inflicted on the victim. The court highlighted Green’s lack of empathy and manipulative tendencies, labeling her actions as disgraceful and despicable. Ultimately, Green’s actions were deemed reprehensible, warranting significant legal consequences.
