Date:

Wizz Air has introduced new flight routes to a beautiful island featuring sunny weather and clear blue waters, with prices starting from just £45.99.

With the persistently gloomy weather in Britain, many are daydreaming about a sun-soaked vacation, and it’s now the ideal time to learn that Wizz Air has expanded its flight offerings to the iconic Greek island of Santorini. This stunning destination has long been a favorite among travelers seeking a serene escape amidst its charming white and blue villages perched on cliffs.

The fresh route from London Gatwick to Santorini by Wizz Air is set to commence on 1 July 2026, as the airline strengthens its links to Greece in preparation for the upcoming summer travel season. The new service, providing more flexibility for British travelers planning their summer getaways, will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Direct flights are available starting at just £45.99 one-way, making it easier than ever to secure a peaceful holiday during the summer without breaking the bank. Santorini offers a variety of attractions for visitors, from its striking cliffside views and volcanic sand beaches to some of the most breathtaking sunsets you’ll ever witness.

Travelers can wander through cobblestone paths lined with white buildings adorned with vibrant pink bougainvillea flowers, creating a picture-perfect moment reminiscent of scenes from “Mamma Mia!” Due to its unique location atop volcanic cliffs, there are numerous hiking trails to explore the island’s distinctive beauty, including the popular Fira-Oia trail.

In addition, visitors can explore the ancient ruins at Akrotiri, take a boat trip on the turquoise waters, relax in Santorini’s hot springs, sample local wines on a vineyard tour, and indulge in Greek cuisine at a variety of charming restaurants, lively bars, and authentic cafes, offering everything from Gyros to Horiatiki salads.

The introduction of the new flight route to Santorini by Wizz Air comes as the airline expands its connections between the UK and Greece. Wizz Air has also announced additional flights to Chania, Corfu, Mykonos, Rhodes, and Zakynthos launching this summer.

Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director at Wizz Air UK, expressed excitement about the addition of Santorini to their London Gatwick network just in time for the peak summer season. The upcoming Greek routes are expected to be popular among customers, with Santorini being a dream destination for many.

“As London’s leading low-cost carrier, we are thrilled to offer travelers the chance to experience this iconic island destination at an affordable price,” said Moynihan. Through their Customer First Compass framework, Wizz Air ensures that customer needs remain a top priority in all decisions made.

The upcoming flights from London Gatwick to Santorini, with a travel time of less than four hours, will soon be available for booking on the Wizz Air website or app. Prices for one-way direct tickets will start at £45.99, and the inaugural flight is scheduled for 1 July 2026.
