Authorities have published a photograph of a man whom they are seeking to interrogate regarding a dog assault that left a woman and her infant injured.
The occurrence transpired between 6:30 pm and 6:50 pm on Friday, September 5, on Stephenson Drive, close to the Newfoundpool vicinity of Leicester. Law enforcement reported that a woman, accompanied by her small child and baby in a stroller, was approached by a dog.
According to the police, both the woman and the stroller were knocked down by the unleashed dog, resulting in minor injuries. The mother sustained a scratch on her back, while the baby incurred a “lump and graze” on her forehead.
Leicestershire Police mentioned, “Authorities have issued a surveillance image of a man they intend to converse with following a dog attack on a young family in Leicester. The event unfolded between 6:30 pm and 6:50 pm on Friday, September 5, on Stephenson Drive.
“A woman was strolling with her small child and baby in a stroller when they were approached by a dog. The off-leash dog leaped up, scratching her back before jumping at the stroller, tipping it over along with the woman. During the episode, the baby hit her head, resulting in a lump and graze on her forehead.”
The police stated that the dog’s owner subsequently appeared and pulled the dog away from the family before fleeing in the direction of Samson Road. An image of a man linked to the incident has been released by the police, urging him or anyone with information on his identity to come forward as he may hold crucial details about the incident.
“The dog’s owner intervened and took the dog away, fleeing toward Samson Road. In the course of their investigation, officers have distributed an image of a man they aim to identify,” as per the police statement.
“He might possess pertinent information about this incident, hence we encourage anyone who recognizes him or the man himself to reach out. Individuals with relevant details are urged to contact the police at 101, quoting reference number 25000525597 or via the website www.leics.police.uk.”
