Guinness recently inaugurated a new brewery in the bustling city center of London, but the reception has been lukewarm at best.
The brand, known for its soaring popularity due to the Guinness Storehouse Experience in Dublin and increased exposure from the hit Netflix show “House of Guinness,” decided to broaden its reach by launching a new establishment in central London last December. However, after a visit from King Charles shortly following the opening, the general public has expressed disappointment with the new site.
Influencer James Dimitri shared his underwhelming experience at the London brewery located in Covent Garden on his TikTok account. He criticized the high prices of pints, revealing that he paid £7.20 for a single pint of Guinness. Furthermore, he lamented the absence of heated seating, forcing him to endure the cold weather while enjoying his drink, a situation he found unfitting.
Despite acknowledging the quality of the pint he consumed, James expressed his disapproval of the overall ambiance, stating his preference for traditional pubs with a better atmosphere over the brewery. Other viewers echoed similar sentiments in the comments section, expressing dissatisfaction with the brewery’s offerings and pricing.
While some defended the brewery, attributing the high prices and limited amenities to its location in central London, others criticized the lackluster experience and tap selection. The debate continues among patrons, with varying opinions on the brewery’s appeal and pricing strategy.
The Guinness Open Gate Brewery has been approached for a statement regarding the feedback.
