“Speeding Driver Sentenced to 3 Years for Fatal Crash”

Date:

A speeding driver who caused a fatal crash resulting in the deaths of three young men has been sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison. Jorja Colville was driving recklessly at over 85mph in her Ford Focus on a rural road when she lost control of the vehicle, leading to the tragic deaths of passengers Reece Williams, Lewis Soden, and Connor Page in July 2024.

Colville, a resident of Stirling, Scotland, was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving on the C3 Moss Road near Dunmore, Stirlingshire. The incident occurred when she failed to maintain control of her car, causing it to veer off the road and collide with a tree.

During the sentencing at Stirling Sheriff Court, it was revealed that Colville had previously admitted to the charges of dangerous driving at the High Court in Edinburgh. The devastating impact of the crash was highlighted by Connor Page’s father, Kevin, who shared the profound grief and loss experienced by the victims’ families.

The court heard that Colville, who had no prior criminal record, was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and depression following the collision and is undergoing treatment. Witness testimonies described Colville overtaking vehicles at high speed before the fatal crash occurred.

In a statement, Reece Williams’ mother expressed the profound loss felt by their family and acknowledged the enduring impact on both their family and Colville’s. The tragic incident has left a lasting void for the victims’ families, who struggle to come to terms with the sudden loss of their loved ones.
