Nigel Farage’s recent addition, Robert Jenrick, expressed admiration for his new leader after switching allegiance from the Conservative Party, despite their checkered past.
Known previously as “Robert Generic,” Jenrick was abruptly removed from the Shadow Cabinet and had his membership suspended by Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, who accused him of planning to defect to Reform UK. Shortly after, Jenrick joined Farage at a press conference, commending the Reform UK leader for advocating the necessary change for more than a decade.
Although Farage and Jenrick have had public disagreements, including personal insults, Jenrick had criticized Farage’s policies in the past, questioning his suitability for roles like managing schools or hospitals. In a leaked recording, Jenrick also belittled Farage’s leadership capabilities.
Farage, in turn, has questioned Jenrick’s sincerity and criticized his performance as Immigration Minister, particularly regarding the handling of asylum hotels. The ongoing tensions between the two politicians have led to a war of words, with each questioning the other’s integrity and trustworthiness.
