“Trump’s Fake Post Promoting ‘Melanie’ Documentary Sparks Confusion”

Date:

Former President Donald Trump caused confusion among his followers with a social media post where he appeared to confuse his wife’s name and promoted a supposed documentary about her. In the post on his Truth Social platform, he referred to his wife as “MELANIE” instead of Melania and praised the documentary as a significant moment in American history.

The documentary, titled “Melania,” premiered in cinemas recently but received mixed reviews and reportedly struggled with ticket sales in the US and Europe. Despite the post’s grandiose claims about the documentary’s importance, fact-checking site Snopes confirmed that the post was fake. The image circulating online did not match any posts on Trump’s actual Truth Social account and showed signs of digital editing.

Snopes highlighted that the absence of timestamps, likes, reposts, comments, and shares in the screenshot indicated its inauthenticity. Additionally, searches on archives of Trump’s posts yielded no results for the misspelled name “Melanie.” The blurry appearance of the ‘@realDonaldTrump’ handle in the fake post further pointed to manipulation through digital editing.

While Trump is known for his controversial online presence, this particular post turned out to be a hoax, debunked by fact-checkers.
