A father revealed that his daughter, Isobella Knight, was killed by her husband after she expressed her intention to leave him. Paul Knight, 36, recently pleaded guilty to the murder of the 32-year-old talented artist in their home in Burton Latimer, Northants, while their two children were asleep.
Isobella’s father, Tim Davies, disclosed that she had endured controlling and abusive behavior from her husband for years. She had confided in friends about her desire to end the relationship and had made arrangements with her husband for the sake of their children. The family only learned about the extent of the abuse after her tragic death.
Knight confessed to the killing at Northampton Crown Court and is awaiting sentencing in January. Following the murder, he attempted suicide and crashed his car, leading to the discovery of Isobella’s body in their home by the police. A post-mortem examination determined that she died from strangulation.
Isobella’s two daughters, aged six and three, are now under the care of her mother, Helena, and her partner. Concerns have arisen about Knight’s potential influence on decisions regarding the children, prompting discussions about a law that would remove parental rights from a convicted parent in such cases.
