“Community Rallies for Boy with Stolen Tricycle”

Date:

A community in Los Angeles has come together in support after a shocking incident occurred. Recently, a young boy named Jack had his customized tricycle stolen from his backyard in Los Feliz. Jack, who has Down’s syndrome and autism, relied on the specially designed trike for mobility in the neighborhood.

Marie Johnson, Jack’s mother, spoke to KNX News about the theft, expressing how vital the tricycle was for her son’s independence. She emphasized that walking could be challenging or overwhelming for Jack, making the trike his primary mode of transportation. According to reports from the Mirror US, Marie described how proud and happy Jack was when riding his tricycle, interacting with neighbors as he passed by.

Marie shared her concerns about breaking the news to Jack, fearing it would deeply upset him due to his trusting nature. Turning to social media for help, she sought assistance in locating the stolen tricycle. In response, community members initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for a replacement. The campaign has already exceeded $8,500 in donations.

The GoFundMe organizer stated that the replacement tricycle would be securely stored in a locked area, ensuring Jack’s joy and safety. All funds raised will be used to purchase a new adaptive tricycle for Jack. Supporters are encouraged to donate to the GoFundMe page to help Jack regain his treasured means of mobility and independence.
