A travel expert predicts that Ibiza resorts are on track to surpass Benidorm as the preferred destination for British hen and stag parties. Frank, known as “The Stag Man,” commended Ibiza for its vibrant nightlife and affordability compared to Benidorm. He noted that while Benidorm has been the top choice for his clients, the trend is shifting towards Ibiza.
Hailing from Tottenham, north London, Frank emphasized that Ibiza is reclaiming its prominence as a party hotspot. He stated, “I can reestablish Ibiza as the premier holiday spot for stag and hen parties, potentially overshadowing Benidorm.” Frank aims to prevent both destinations from experiencing a decline in tourism, planning to make his move within a year.
Benidorm has long been a popular destination for British vacationers, with over 832,000 visitors flocking to the Costa Blanca area in 2023. However, concerns over safety, including incidents of theft and muggings, have led some tourists to seek alternative destinations like Ibiza. In 2022, Ibiza welcomed over three million visitors from around the world, drawn in part by its lively nightlife scene.
Frank anticipates that Ibiza’s appeal will endure, especially after a recent downturn prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. He highlighted the competitive pricing in Ibiza compared to Benidorm, emphasizing the importance of quality over profit. Addressing the safety issues in Benidorm, Frank believes the destination could perform better without the prevalent crime concerns.
While planning to capitalize on Ibiza’s rising popularity, Frank intends to maintain his businesses in Benidorm, including bars, travel agencies, and restaurants catering to British tourists. Ibiza, the third largest Balearic Island by area and second largest by population, has been traditionally linked to electronic dance music clubs but has increasingly promoted family-friendly holidays in recent years.
