“Royal Scandal: Police & Prosecutors Discuss Prince Andrew Allegations”

Date:

Thames Valley Police and prosecutors are currently in discussions regarding accusations against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The discussions pertain to allegations of misconduct in public office, which arose following revelations in the recent Epstein files suggesting Andrew shared confidential government information.

Previously, the police force had been examining claims that the King’s brother disclosed classified reports from his position as the UK’s trade envoy to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Additionally, they were investigating allegations that Epstein sent a woman to the UK for a sexual encounter with Andrew at Royal Lodge.

Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright of the force stated that Thames Valley Police is leading the ongoing assessment of the allegations related to misconduct in public office based on documents in the Epstein Files. They have been in talks with Specialist Crown Prosecutors from the CPS as part of this assessment process, with updates to be provided as they become available.

During the assessment phase, information is carefully evaluated to determine if there is suspicion of a criminal offense and the need for a full investigation. Allegations of misconduct in public office are intricate and require a thorough assessment before proceeding with a criminal investigation.

Despite not being able to provide a timeline for a decision on whether a criminal investigation will be initiated, Thames Valley Police assures that progress is being made swiftly. The King has pledged full cooperation with any police investigation into his brother’s alleged misconduct, offering to provide any relevant documents from Andrew’s personal affairs.

Andrew has consistently refuted claims of sexual misconduct with Virginia Giuffre and any involvement in Epstein’s illegal activities. Recent allegations include the arrival of a second woman at Andrew’s Royal Lodge at Epstein’s behest for a sexual encounter. Emails released by the US Department of Justice indicate that Andrew shared official visit reports with Epstein, breaching the duty of confidentiality associated with his role as a trade envoy.

The King and Queen have expressed their concerns about the allegations against Andrew, stating their support for any investigation by Thames Valley Police. The Prince and Princess of Wales have also voiced their dismay over the scandal, offering sympathy to the victims of abuse associated with the case.
