A chilling video has surfaced showing a snow leopard hovering over a skier it had attacked in Xinjiang province, China. The incident took place in Koktokay Township last Friday evening. Social media footage reveals the leopard standing guard over the victim.
Another part of the video captures the leopard moving swiftly through the snowy terrain, while bystanders assist the injured woman in getting away from the dangerous situation. The skier, covered in blood, is seen shielding her face as onlookers raise alarm. Initially, the skier tried to photograph the leopard from a distance but ventured too close, prompting the attack.
Despite being bitten on the face, the skier was saved from serious harm by her helmet. A ski instructor intervened, scaring off the leopard with his ski poles. The victim was promptly taken to Fuyun County People’s Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Local authorities, including the Fuyun County Forestry and Grassland Bureau, confirmed the incident and assured the public of increased safety measures. They advised both tourists and residents to keep a safe distance from wildlife and report any encounters to the police.
In a separate incident, a 19-year-old woman was tragically found dead on a beach in Australia, surrounded by wild dogs. Police believe the victim had gone for a swim early in the morning before being discovered by passersby. The scene was described as dramatic and horrifying, with signs indicating interaction with the wild dogs.
The exact cause of the woman’s death is yet to be determined. The authorities have increased patrols and educational efforts to prevent similar incidents in the future.
