Harrowing visuals depict the ongoing suffering endured by individuals in Gaza following a new series of Israeli airstrikes that resulted in a death toll of at least 29. Hospitals in Gaza highlighted that the attacks on Saturday caused one of the highest numbers of casualties since the ceasefire in October aimed at halting the conflict.
Israel accused Hamas of breaching the recent ceasefire agreement shortly after recovering the body of the last hostage, Master Sgt Ran Gvili. Despite expectations for progress in Donald Trump’s peace plan, recent images showed the impact of strikes on apartments and temporary camps in the past 24 hours.
The airstrikes targeted an apartment building in Gaza City and a tent camp in Khan Younis. Additionally, an airstrike struck a police station in Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of at least 14 individuals and injuries to others, as confirmed by Shifa Hospital director Mohamed Abu Selmiya.
Reports from Nasser Hospital revealed that the tent camp attack led to a fatal fire that claimed the lives of seven individuals, including a father, his three children, and three grandchildren. Furthermore, Al Shifa Hospital documented the deaths of three children, their aunt, and grandmother in the Gaza City apartment building strike on Saturday morning, while the police station strike caused the deaths of at least 14 people, including four policewomen and inmates.
The Hamas-run Interior Ministry disclosed that Palestinian civilians were among those killed in the strikes. Hamas condemned the attacks as a blatant violation and urged the United States and other mediating nations to intervene and compel Israel to cease further strikes.
