A woman in Bangkok was seen brandishing a weapon and threatening passersby on a crowded street until bystanders managed to confine her in a taxi, according to reports. Disturbing video footage captured the woman wielding a knife in the Nana area of Bangkok on Friday. An eyewitness, who shared the incident on Instagram, recounted hearing screams while walking along Sukhumvit Soi 3 before witnessing the woman attempting to attack people with the knife.
The video shows the woman walking down the street with the knife in hand. At one point, she lunged towards a man, who defended himself by kicking in her direction, causing her to change course. Passersby avoided her as she continued walking until she targeted a woman randomly. The situation only de-escalated when she entered a taxi, but alert bystanders prevented the vehicle from leaving and alerted the driver.
As she remained inside the cab, the crowd surrounded her, leading to a tense standoff where she became increasingly agitated and hostile, refusing to relinquish the weapon. Eventually, a local police officer intervened, entering the taxi from the opposite side and successfully apprehending her. Another individual, identified as a Grab driver, reportedly entered the taxi and, with the help of others, managed to disarm the woman. It was also alleged that the woman had stabbed a boy during the incident.
Authorities arrived at the scene and arrested the woman, as per reports. This incident highlights the swift action taken by bystanders to neutralize the threat and prevent further harm.
