Russia Accuses US of Treaty Breach, Warns of Global Annihilation

Date:

Russia issues a stark nuclear war alert, asserting possession of weapons capable of “obliterating the entire world.” Nationalist figure Alexey Zhuravlev, a close associate of Vladimir Putin, accuses the US of breaching the START treaty on nuclear disarmament. Zhuravlev emphasizes Russia’s formidable arsenal, capable of annihilating any nation or causing global devastation.

Zhuravlev criticizes the US for alleged non-compliance with the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, highlighting uncertainties over the actual number of active warheads. He underscores the potency of new non-nuclear weaponry like hypersonic missiles, such as the Oreshnik, in inflicting significant damage on adversaries.

In a bid to curb nuclear proliferation, Zhuravlev positions Russia as a peacemaker, denouncing China’s reluctance to engage in a treaty that Washington demands. Despite Moscow’s unilateral commitment to extend the START treaty, the US insists on China’s inclusion, causing a deadlock in negotiations.

Meanwhile, delegates from Moscow and Kyiv convene in Abu Dhabi for US-mediated talks to resolve the prolonged conflict in Ukraine. A Russian assault using cluster munitions results in casualties, underscoring the urgency of diplomatic efforts. Discussions between the parties, including US representatives, focus on practical measures towards a resolution, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio acknowledging progress despite anticipating prolonged negotiations.
