Two school girls were filmed laughing in a police car after being arrested for allegedly planning to kill a fellow student. Isabelle Valdez, 15, and Lois Lippert, 14, were taken into custody following an investigation into a reported murder plot. The tipster had disclosed that Valdez intended to kill someone from their school, leading to the discovery of a knife in Valdez’s possession.
According to prosecutors, the girls had planned to harm a student by cutting his throat or stabbing him in the stomach in a school bathroom. Valdez confessed to the plan after the knife was found. Their intended victim was chosen because he reminded Valdez of a notorious school shooter, Adam Lanza. Valdez believed that by killing him, she would establish a “blood bond” with Lanza, leading to his resurrection. The girls also planned to leave flowers at the scene and smoke a cigarette post the crime.
Lippert allegedly provided support for the plot by supplying gloves, chocolates, flowers, and cigarettes, and aiding in sharpening the knife. She even drew disturbing sketches of the victim as per prosecutors. In the footage from the patrol car, the girls can be heard discussing the tipster, sharpening the knife, and mentioning school shooters. They were observed laughing and expressing an unusual lack of remorse during the ride.
At a bond hearing, prosecutors presented the footage as evidence of the threat posed by the teens. The girls, students at Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida, have been charged as adults with attempted premeditated murder among other offenses. Both have pleaded not guilty and will remain in custody awaiting trial.
