Emergency responders swiftly arrived at a farmhouse near Almeria, Spain, in response to a fire outbreak at approximately 8:25 am on February 7. Tragically, a 66-year-old British woman was found deceased at the location after the fierce blaze consumed the property in the town of Antas. The woman’s lifeless body was located outside the home while her 76-year-old husband was trapped on a balcony, surrounded by bars, desperately calling for help as the fire raged. Rescuers managed to free the man by dismantling the balcony railings with a crowbar before safely bringing him down.
Authorities in Spain confirmed the deceased victim’s British nationality but have refrained from disclosing her identity. Firefighters ruled out a direct connection between her death and the house fire, as reported by The Olive Press.
Investigations revealed that the woman did not suffer from smoke inhalation, and her injuries did not align with those typically associated with a fire incident.
