A young teenager exhibited immense bravery by helping save three individuals just before his tragic demise.
The Chandler Police Department reported that emergency responders rushed to the scene of an accident involving a pedestrian near Arizona Avenue and Detroit Street on April 2. According to witnesses, the pedestrian, a student at Chandler High School named Jayben Camacho, was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road outside a designated crossing area. Despite being taken to a local hospital, Jayben succumbed to his injuries. The driver involved in the incident stayed at the site and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Jayben’s father, Benny Camacho Jr., disclosed that his son’s final act of kindness resulted in saving three lives. Jayben’s heart was transplanted into a fellow teenager, his lungs were donated to help a person reliant on a respirator, and portions of his liver were given to a critically ill 5-month-old infant.
To support Jayben’s family during this challenging time, a GoFundMe page has been established. The page describes Jayben as a radiant 16-year-old who touched the lives of those around him with his presence and energy. Despite the family’s tragic loss, they are grateful for Jayben’s decision to be an organ donor, ensuring his legacy lives on through the lives he has impacted.
The fundraising campaign has already raised over $31,000 of its $35,000 goal. Those wishing to contribute can do so by visiting the GoFundMe page linked here.
