A Russian investigative journalist, Roman Badanin, known for uncovering details about Vladimir Putin’s personal life, is now wanted by Moscow authorities. Badanin, who is the chief editor of the publications Proekt and Agentsvo, has been living in exile abroad.
In a recent development, Badanin has been placed on a wanted list by the Russian Interior Ministry, although the exact reasons for his inclusion remain undisclosed. Mediazona outlet reported on this development today.
In a book released last year, Badanin alleged that Putin, while publicly endorsing traditional family values, privately engaged in multiple extramarital relationships. One such relationship was with Alisa Kharcheva, a 17-year-old student at the time, who was involved with Putin after posing for a calendar on his 58th birthday.
Additionally, the book revealed Putin’s past affair with Svetlana Krivonogikh, resulting in the birth of a secret love child named Luiza Rozova. The book also shed light on Putin’s two sons with Alina Kabaeva, who use the surname ‘Spiridonov’ to maintain anonymity.
The book further exposed Putin’s lavish spending on luxury accommodations for Kabaeva and other gymnasts, suggesting a pattern of generosity towards young women in his circle. It also detailed Putin’s alleged involvement in various extramarital affairs with different women.
Contrary to his public image promoting family values, the book depicted Putin’s inner circle as engaging in infidelity and polygamy, with marriage seen as a non-binding institution. The book also touched on Putin’s family history, including a violent incident involving his parents.
Badanin’s media outlets faced censorship and labeling as “undesirable” after he was designated a “foreign agent” in 2021. His publications have also circulated rumors about Putin’s health and his interactions with medical professionals.
The ongoing scrutiny of Putin’s personal life continues to stir controversy and speculation within Russian society, challenging the public perception of the Kremlin leader.
