“US Vice President JD Vance Pursues Comprehensive Iran Deal”

Date:

US Vice President JD Vance has expressed his commitment to pursuing a significant agreement with Iran, refusing to settle for a minor deal. Vance led extensive negotiations with Iranian officials in Pakistan over the weekend, resulting in a lengthy 21-hour discussion that concluded without a resolution. Plans are in place for Vance to lead potential follow-up negotiations if they come to fruition.

During the talks, Vance noted that despite existing mistrust between the two nations, the Iranian representatives seemed inclined towards reaching a deal. Speaking at a Turning Point USA event in Athens, Georgia on April 14, Vance conveyed his optimism about the progress made, emphasizing that President Trump is adamant about achieving a comprehensive agreement rather than a limited one.

Trump’s vision for the deal includes ensuring Iran remains non-nuclear, ceases state-sponsored terrorism, and enables the Iranian population to flourish economically and integrate into the global economy. Vance highlighted the president’s unwavering stance on these principles and expressed determination to continue negotiating towards realizing this vision.

Following Vance’s return from negotiations, President Trump announced stringent measures, directing the US Navy to intercept vessels in international waters that have paid tolls to Iran. He declared that vessels paying illegal tolls will not be granted safe passage, and any Iranian aggression towards US or peaceful vessels will be met with force. In response to failed peace talks, the US initiated a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.
