Date:

A gruesome incident unfolded near a popular vacation spot as a young boy was brutally killed with a machete, while his father was shot dead by law enforcement. The boy’s mother sustained severe injuries from the same weapon and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital with significant wounds to her limbs. Shock and horror have gripped the residents of Cabo Blanco, a small village close to the well-known holiday destination of Los Cristianos in Tenerife.

Tragically, the child lost his life earlier today after allegedly being attacked by his father with a machete inside their residence. The Civil Guard was notified of the situation around 1 am following reports of an armed individual inside the house.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers faced a confrontation that culminated in the alleged attacker, a 34-year-old man, assaulting a Civil Guard officer with a machete. The man, characterized as “extremely violent,” was swiftly shot and killed by the police.

The injured officer was promptly transported to a hospital for treatment and is scheduled for surgery, with reports indicating that his condition is stable.

Arona Local Police collaborated with the Civil Guard to assist the woman, providing immediate medical attention, including applying a tourniquet due to the severity of her wounds.

Fátima Lemes, the mayor of Arona, confirmed the incident in her initial statement to Canarias Radio, revealing that authorities were alerted to the armed individual by multiple calls. Upon searching the premises, the lifeless body of the boy was discovered.

Investigations show no prior complaints against the man who perpetrated the violent act against his son, and he had no criminal history. The case is currently under investigation as a potential instance of domestic violence.
