Several buildings in Paris have been evacuated due to bomb threats targeting multiple locations. Sniffer dogs have been deployed following reports of threatening emails sent to authorities, indicating plans to detonate explosives in the French capital.
Among the targeted landmarks is Montparnasse Tower, where security teams are conducting thorough searches after the area was cordoned off by the police. Local authorities have advised people to avoid the 15th Arrondissement, where the skyscraper is situated. Sciences Po Paris is also impacted by the threats.
Paris police received a report just before 6 pm regarding possible explosive devices at various locations within the city. As a precautionary measure, evacuations are being carried out at multiple sites. An official police source mentioned that some establishments requested evacuation as part of security protocols.
The Montparnasse Tower, a 210-meter office skyscraper in the heart of Paris, stands as the city’s sole skyscraper in the downtown area. Completed in 1973, this 59-story building is a renowned landmark in the 15th district, offering a 360° panoramic observation deck with stunning views, including the Eiffel Tower.
On a separate note, the headquarters of France’s left-wing France Unbowed party was evacuated recently due to a bomb threat. National coordinator Manuel Bompard confirmed the evacuation, ensuring the safety of all staff and activists present.
This incident unfolded shortly after the arrest of two additional suspects connected to the fatal assault on Quentin Deranque, a far-right political activist who tragically passed away from severe brain injuries sustained during an attack by a group of individuals.
