A woman in her forties has tragically passed away after sustaining a severe head injury in what is believed to be an assault outside a bar.
Liam Moor, aged 19, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter following the incident involving Lisa Denton, aged 40, who was swiftly taken to the hospital in critical condition late Saturday night. Responders rushed to Charlie’s Bar on Russell Street, where a cordon was set up around the premises, now temporarily closed.
Despite medical efforts, Ms. Denton succumbed to her injuries shortly after. Moor, residing on Telford Street in East Howdon, is currently held in custody awaiting a hearing at Bedlington Magistrates’ Court on a manslaughter charge.
Another woman in her fifties was also taken into custody on suspicion of aiding an offender and has been released on police bail pending further investigation.
