“British Girl, 7, Swept Away by Sea in Morocco Amid Criticism”

Date:

A young British girl, Inaayah Makda, aged seven, has disappeared after being carried away by the sea during a family vacation in Morocco. The incident occurred when Inaayah and her parents were observing the sunset on a beach in Casablanca. Concerns have been raised by relatives over the perceived lack of assistance from local authorities and police in Morocco.

A family member expressed deep worries, noting the distressing situation and the insufficient support received despite seeking help. Inaayah’s father, Zubair, recounted the sudden tide that swept them away, with the family being separated from the missing girl in the chaos.

Criticism was leveled at the Moroccan authorities for their allegedly inadequate response, with claims of minimal support offered to the family in their search for Inaayah. The family was allegedly advised to wait for the body to wash ashore due to rough sea conditions, a statement that shocked many.

Adnan Hussain, the Member of Parliament for Blackburn, shared that he had spoken with Zubair and assured that his office was actively assisting the family. He emphasized the tragic nature of the situation and pledged to engage with UK and Moroccan authorities to ensure comprehensive support for the ongoing search efforts.

Community solidarity was evident as a local mosque urged prayers for Inaayah and her family, calling for support during this challenging time. The FCDO spokesperson confirmed that they were in contact with the local authorities in Morocco to aid in the search for the missing British national.
