“UK Parents Criticize Authorities Amid Search for Missing Moroccan Beach Girl”

Date:

The parents of a young British girl swept into the sea while on vacation in Morocco have expressed serious concerns about the assistance provided by UK authorities. Seven-year-old Inaayah Makda was carried away by the waves while playing at a beach in Casablanca with her parents, who lost sight of her in the tumultuous waters.

Despite extensive search efforts involving charities, volunteers, and underwater teams, Inaayah remains missing. Her father, Zubair, criticized Moroccan authorities for their perceived lack of support in locating their daughter.

The parents, still in Casablanca, have enlisted a private search operator with a helicopter to aid in the search. They have voiced disappointment over what they perceive as limited practical help from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).

“We are deeply troubled by the insufficient practical assistance from UK authorities. While our case is supposedly under observation, concrete actions have not materialized,” said Inaayah’s parents. They are urging the UK government to advocate for increased efforts by Moroccan authorities, additional resources, and enhanced coordination to intensify the search.

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, the parents stressed the need for more support to expedite the search and utilize all available resources. They highlighted the reliance on local volunteers and private initiatives, underscoring the need for broader assistance during this crisis.

In a plea for continued efforts, the parents emphasized Inaayah’s individuality and the importance of leaving no stone unturned in the search. They encouraged ongoing prayers for their daughter and reiterated their determination to bring her home.

The Mirror reached out to the FCDO for a response. Previously, a spokesperson for the FCDO stated, “We are supporting the family of a British national reported missing in Morocco and are in contact with the local authorities.”
