“UK Braces for 33-Hour Snowstorm: Winter Weather Alert”

Date:

A prolonged 33-hour snowstorm is expected to hit various parts of the UK as temperatures drop to a chilly -4C in the upcoming days. Weather charts from WXCharts suggest wintry conditions will impact several regions across the country from 9pm on February 5 to 6am on February 7. The maps show white and purple shades, indicating the possibility of winter weather with snowfall expected in multiple counties in England and Scotland. Around 13 counties nationwide are predicted to endure these cold spells according to the forecasts.

Looking ahead from February 6 to 15, the weather outlook reveals that frontal systems moving from the Atlantic may bring rain to flood-prone areas, with chances of snow in northern England and Scotland, particularly in higher terrains due to encountering colder air. The Express reports a potential shift southwards of low-pressure areas in the second week of February, increasing the risk of wintry conditions spreading across the UK, including the southern regions.

Affected areas include Shropshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Perth and Kinross, Stirling, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Inverness, South Lanarkshire, and Dumfries and Galloway.
