An inmate at Pinheiros Provisional Detention Center II in São Paulo, Brazil, faced a brutal end after fellow prisoners discovered his alleged heinous crime. The inmate, Washington Ramos Brito, 32, who was arrested on February 25 for a suspected murder, was gruesomely beheaded and disemboweled just three days later by suspected members of a prison gang known as Bonde do Cerol Fininho, using a razor blade.
The suspected killers, Rodrigo Galvão dos Santos, also known as Rota, 42, and José Wellington Matos Vitória, 25, are believed to be part of the gang based on the method used to carry out the killing. Reports suggest that Washington’s fate in prison was a direct consequence of his alleged crime, which was the suspected killing of his mother in Jardim das Palmas.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, revealing that neither of their mothers was alive, and they were motivated by revenge against Washington for the alleged matricide. Following their statements and physical assessment at the 91st Police District (Ceagesp), Rota and Wellington were returned to prison.
Details surrounding the mother’s death indicated that Angelina Maria Ramos, 58, was found by one of her sons showing signs of strangulation and neck scratches. Washington, who admitted to the murder, claimed that he committed the crime after being insulted by his mother.
The Bonde do Cerol Fininho, a rival faction of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), was reportedly founded by a former PCC member named Lúcifer, also known as Marcos Paulo da Silva, 48. Lúcifer, suffering from psychosis and serving a lengthy prison sentence, allegedly separated from the original faction and claimed to have killed approximately 50 rivals.
The group’s preferred execution method involves beheading and the removal of the victim’s internal organs. Despite currently being held at Penitentiary I of Presidente Venceslau, Lúcifer was previously incarcerated at the Tupi Paulista unit, where Rota was also imprisoned.
