“Trump Demands Iran’s ‘Unconditional Surrender’ After Strike”

Date:

President Donald Trump has stated that he will only agree to Iran’s “unconditional surrender.” The United States and Israel carried out an attack last Saturday that resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khoumaini. Trump has made it clear that there will be no negotiations with Iran, emphasizing that only an “unconditional surrender” from Tehran will be accepted.

Trump emphasized, “There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER! After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, along with our allies, will work diligently to revive Iran, economically making it bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.”

He expressed optimism for Iran’s future, stating, “IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE. ‘MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!).’ Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.” Trump has reiterated the importance of the new Iranian leadership aligning with the interests of the United States.

In a brief address at the White House, Trump urged the Iranian people to reclaim their country and assured them of “immunity” under US protection. He stated, “So you’ll be perfectly safe with total immunity. Or you’ll face absolutely guaranteed death,” without elaborating on the specifics.

In an interview with Axios, Trump expressed his desire to play a role in selecting Iran’s new supreme leader. He downplayed Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the current supreme leader, as a potential successor, referring to him as “a lightweight.” Trump emphasized the need for a leader who can bring harmony and peace to Iran.

Iranian state television reported that a leadership council has begun discussions on convening the Assembly of Experts to choose the new supreme leader. The council includes President Masoud Pezeshkian, judiciary chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehi, and cleric Ayatollah Ali Reza Arafi.

No specific timeline was provided for the selection of the Supreme Leader, and it remains unclear whether the Assembly of Experts will meet in person or virtually for the vote. Buildings associated with the Assembly of Experts have been targeted during the recent Israeli-US airstrikes.
