A young Gaelic football talent, Padraig Rafferty, has passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer, leaving tributes highlighting the joy he brought to the field. A student at St Joseph & St James’ Primary School in Poyntzpass, Co Armagh, Padraig was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2023. Padraig, who played Gaelic football for Redmond O’Hanlon’s GAC at the underage level, was described by the club as a dedicated and spirited player. The loss of Padraig has deeply impacted the community, with all club activities now suspended as a mark of respect.
