“Tragic Assault Shuts Down Party Hotel in Magaluf”

Date:

Just a brief walk from Playa de Magaluf beach, BH Mallorca used to be a popular hotel for young holidaymakers seeking the vibrant party atmosphere of the Spanish town. However, the summer of 2023 brought a tragic turn of events when a brutal group assault occurred in room 108, during the early hours on the Magaluf strip.

An 18-year-old girl fell victim to a group of men who mercilessly attacked her, filming the degrading incident while laughing and hurling insults. Shocked by the heinous act, guests at the adults-only resort raised concerns about safety, citing break-ins, unsanitary conditions, and unruly visitors.

Following the disturbing incident, BH Mallorca ceased its operations in 2024, ending the era of foam parties and round-the-clock revelry. The hotel was rebranded as Fergus Club Mallorca Waterpark by the Fergus Group, distancing itself from its previous association with the Palladium Hotel Group.

Known for its pool parties, resident DJs, and a lively swim-up bar offering cocktails, the hotel attracted a young crowd, drawn in by its proximity to the popular BCM super-club. Despite the fond memories shared by some guests, others recounted a different narrative, highlighting issues such as poor hygiene, substandard services, and safety worries.

Numerous negative reviews criticized various aspects of the hotel experience, from unclean facilities to unsettling encounters with security staff. Complaints ranged from broken locks in rooms to disturbances caused by noise from the surrounding party scene, leaving guests dissatisfied with their stay.

Today, the former party hub has been rebranded as the family-oriented Fergus Club Mallorca Waterpark Hotel, catering to a different demographic seeking a more wholesome holiday experience. While praised for its cleanliness, the hotel still grapples with noise disturbances from the neighboring party district as it strives to reshape its image.

For those affected by sexual assault, support and resources are available via www.rapecrisis.org.uk or the national helpline at 0808 802 9999. If you have a story to share, reach out to julia.banim@reachplc.com.
