“Fire at US Military Base in Gloucestershire Sparks Controversy”

Date:

A fire broke out at an airbase in Gloucestershire that is currently being used by the US military. Emergency crews rushed to RAF Fairford in the early hours of Sunday morning to extinguish the fire, which caused the roof of a building to collapse.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and no damage was sustained by RAF aircraft. However, the condition of any US equipment at the site remains uncertain.

The US military was granted permission by the Government to operate from RAF Fairford, located near the Wiltshire border, during the conflict in Iran. The airbase has been utilized by Washington to launch defensive operations against Tehran, sparking protests with around 200 people gathering outside the base in opposition.

Demonstrators displayed signs with messages such as “no war on Iran,” “US out of British bases,” and “stop Trump’s deadly war.” Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed their response to the fire incident, advising residents in the Fairford area to keep doors and windows closed due to smoke.
