The race between Sawe and Yomif Kejelcha, representing Kenya and Ethiopia respectively, was a nail-biting contest that went down to the wire. Switzerland’s Marcel Hug clinched his sixth consecutive victory in the men’s wheelchair race, matching the event record set by David Weir. Catherine Debrunner, also from Switzerland, successfully defended her title in the women’s wheelchair race.
